Hiking is a popular thing to do around Black Lake; Lost Cabin Trail is a magnificent local trail, and it's a pleasant idea to go to Lemons Brook. Stay the night at Happy Days Campground; there's nice hiking along the Schiff Trail. You could also explore Wesserlauf Pond since you're here at Black Lake; it's close by; Villa Roma Resort Lodges is a brilliant place to get some       rest. Black Lake gets lots of water; most of the rain falls during August; the driest month of the year is February. Head up to Holiday Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Callicoon Creek - East Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Get soaked paddling on Delaware River; after a long day outdoors Best Western Monticello is a tremendous location to spend a night or two. Near Black Lake you stumble on a golf course                  called Island Glen Country Club, and if you've had enough of Black Lake, Little Black Lake is nearby. Summertime highs at Black Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Black Lake fall into the 10's. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a tremendous time here at Black Lake.
