Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Island Branch. Big Bay is around here and always good to go to, and don't forget to take a good little visit to Black Creek. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Gran-View is a pleasant place to spend a night or two, and if you get bored of Black Lake you could also stop at nearby Pleasant Lake. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy       all the entertaining stuff at Black Lake. McLear's Cottage Colony and Campground is a good campground nearby; a golf course nearby is Langbrook Meadows Golf Course. Black Lake gets a common amount of yearly rain; August is the wettest month with most rain while February is usually the driest month. Black Lake is a glorious location to visit for more than one day, Chapman's Marina is a glorious location to camp nearby, and in the event that you don’t have a problem                  getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Oswegatchie River. If you need a site to stay Red Carpet Inn Ogdensburg is a good choice; Black Lake is not the only spot close by, Mud Lake is a close by lake. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Black Lake, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
