    In New York there are many beautiful lakes, Black Lake is one of them. Be careful coming to Black Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. You can run the rapids of Potic Creek River close to Black Lake, and camping is available at Cedar Grove Campground. If you need a place to stay St Charles Hotel is a perfect choice, and lakes are such serene sites, why not stop by Canoe Lake. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Black Lake; May is  
   the month that gets the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
Athens Flat is a lovely location any time of year, and you'll find a delightful lake called Greens Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Woods Road Campsite is always a good experience, and if you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Hudson. For the duration of the months of summer at Black Lake highs are usually in the 80's, and through the night it cools
 
               down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 30's with temperatures at Black Lake dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights.

I kayaked this stretch the day after a big rainstorm in a recreational kayak and it was considerably more difficult than the review makes it out to be. Several downed trees and a huge beaver dam were the worst obstacles. Bingham Mills to Dales Bridge has some dangerous spots. Dales Bridge to the Hudson River is considerably tamer but only about a 40 minute trip. I kayaked it in early June 2006....
