If you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Lake George - Turf, Ny is a brilliant choice. That right there is a lot of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. You could also stop at Martin Pond while you're here at Bird Pond; it's nearby. There's so much to do here at Bird Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Smoke Rise Campsites is a delightful spot for that. Bird Pond is a good site of       typical rain; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most; February is when it's the driest. At Bird Pond during the months of summer highs are in the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Bird Pond temperatures drop to the 0's. Having a good time at Bird Pond is easy. Hiking is a popular                  thing to do around Bird Pond; Spectacle Pond Trail is a wonderful local trail; get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Mill Creek. There's whitewater on Hudson River for all you adrenaline junkies; Bird Pond is right by the Elk Lake Marcy Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Very delightful scenery and good skiing is what you get at Gore Mountain, and Bird Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Ideal Campsites is a great local campground. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Lake George/Warrensburg Area is a delightful place to spend a night or two, and a lake close by is Moxham Pond. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Adirondack Mountains.
