Go for a hike on the Lost Cabin Trail, and hey, Gotta ski right? Holiday Mountain is a delightful location to do that. All the outdoors amusing things in close proximity to Birchwood Pond will keep you coming back many times. A tremendous close by hotel is Econo Lodge Monticello; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for       you then, we recommend Mongaup River. Birchwood Pond regularly gets lots of rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Schiff Trail. High temperatures at Birchwood Pond during the days of summer are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Birchwood Pond                  dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. If you need a location to stay Best Western Monticello is a great choice, and since you're here, you could also check out pretty Crescent Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Swinging Bridge Lake Campgrounds, and an afternoon playing golf at Kutsher's Country Club is always a bliss.
