Big Pond is a good place of normal rain; most of the rain falls during August; the driest of the months is February. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. That right there is loads of fun things already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. Mount Discovery is uncomplicated to spot from Big Pond, and there is a wonderful hiking trail nearby called the Stimson       Trail. This lake is so wonderful. McGrae Swamp is a swamp in the vicinity of Big Pond. A pleasant place for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Big Pond is Boquet River, and Big Pond is a fine site to camp, Barber Homestead Park is a fine site. That right there is heaps already, but it carries on; Big Pond has it all. Mud Pond is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and Magic Pines Family Camp Grounds is a splendid campground here. Dry warm                  beds await you at Basin Harbor Club, and going for a hike on the Leach Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Econo Lodge Plattsburgh is a pleasant choice; Westport Country Club is a golf course nearby. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Big Pond get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; overnight lows in the 0's for Big Pond. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Adirondack Mountains.
