Mountain Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and a lake nearby is Little Pond. Summertime at Big Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's; the overnight is quite cooler of course, usually in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Big Pond. Having a brilliant time in the Catskill Mountains is simple. Really       brilliant skiing awaits you at Belleayre; there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Mill Brook. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Liberty is a good place to spend a night or two; while you're here, you could stop by Alder Creek. This lake is located in the wonderful Catskill Mountains. There's so much to do here at Big Pond that you need to                  camp here for a while, Covered Bridge Campsite is a great location for that, and Howard Johnson Inn Liberty NY is a great location to get some rest. The Seager West Branch Trail offers hiking at its best. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Big Pond has to offer, you can camp at Camp L'Man Achai. Big Pond is a quite wet place usually with a large amount of precipitation; May is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is February.
