Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Catskill Mountains. Everybody close by loves skiing at Belleayre, and there are other places here than Big Pond, for example Little Pond. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. A brilliant place to camp here at Big Pond is Covered Bridge Campsite; a tremendous nearby hotel is Howard Johnson Inn Liberty NY. Big Pond gets much water; through May this area sees the most rain       while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The warmest time of the year at Big Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's while night lows are usually in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Big Pond dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Not far from Big Pond, you'll hit upon Mountain Lake which is a charming lake, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn Of Liberty is a pleasant                  site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Mill Brook, and camping at Camp L'Man Achai is always a good experience. All the outdoors entertaining things in the Catskill Mountains will keep you coming back again and again. The vista of Barkaboom Mountain from Big Pond is pretty, and the slopes of Ski Plattekill are so inviting nobody can resist. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Big Pond; Seager West Branch Trail is a great local trail; it's a tremendous idea to check out Alder Creek. This lake is so wonderful.
