Moose River is a great whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Big Otter Lake, and Country Club Motel is a splendid location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Moose River Camp Grounds, and going for a hike on the Twin Lakes Trail is always a good adventure. Lost Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth checking out; there is a delightful hiking trail close       by called the Stone Dam Trail. Everybody close by loves skiing at Snow Ridge; Goose Pond is a brilliant lake close by. Through the months of summer at Big Otter Lake highs are frequently in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Big Otter Lake. Big Otter Lake is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain                  is August; February on the other hand is the driest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. McCauley Mountain is a wonderful local ski area; a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Moose River - Middle Branch. If you need a location to stay Stillwater Motel is a great choice, and you can go for a hike on the Forty Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
