For the duration of the summer months here at Big Marsh Pond, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Big Marsh Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. LeClair Hill is a peak you can see from Big Marsh Pond, and the snow is good at Whiteface Mountain. You'll wish for more hours in a day       to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Big Marsh Pond. Stay the night at Shearer's Riverside Campsite, and a tour to Jones Beach is always a glorious idea. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Mountain Pines Motel, and a day on the slopes of Gore Mountain is just what you need. There's so much to do here at Big Marsh Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Paradise Pines Camping Resort is a great location for that, and if you need a site                  to stay Blue Ridge Motel is a good choice. This place, the Adirondack Mountains, has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Take a hike on the Peaked Hill Trail; as expected Niagara Brook flows through this neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Schroon River offers some splendid whitewater; hiking along the Stimson Trail is tremendous fun. From a precipitation point of view Big Marsh Pond is a rather common place; during August this area sees the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. Big Marsh Pond is right by the Dix Trail. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not enough time. Float down the rapids of The Branch in a kayak, and not far from Big Marsh Pond you'll find Little Marsh Pond which is a delightful lake.
