Grizzle Ocean
Great place to hike and catch some brooke trout… Went there in may of 08' and caught some nice sized trout......
Oxshoe Pond
What a terrific place to spend the night or even a few days. I went there on my first hike ever, and I am going back this week. It is about a 3-4 hour hike into the trail, but man is it worth it. If you are lucky enough to be the only group there, you will find a lean-2 and fire pit all to yourself. Also, there is a very secluded pond(oxshoe pond) in the same valley, that is just spectacular. A row boat is on hand to use for free for anyone at the site. No cell service with Verizon there, but then again, who needs that? lol again though, an absolutely amazing place to spend a few nights....

Whiteface Mountain
25 miles away 11 PHOTOS With the greatest vertical drop in the east at 3,166 feet, very few resorts do this better than Whiteface. With long runs over three separate, yet connected areas, you'll spend maximum time on the snow and minimum time on the lifts. There's also Little Whiteface with almost 2,500 vertical feet. And don't forget Kids Kampus which has separate lifts, lodge, ticketing, rentals, snowsports school and child care. This is an outstanding experience for young beginners in a low-key, safe environment. A new area opens during 2008/2009 season. Lookout Mountain looms over the horizon covered with pristine snow. For centuries this is how it has been. Until now. This season, Lookout Mountain will be yours for the first time. This means miles of new trail. Literally undiscovered country for you to fall in love with. Whiteface has another face, so Lookout. For more information about Whiteface, please visit their website at www.whiteface.com...
