If you are in this part of New York make sure to pay a visit to Big Five. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. The amount of rainfall that falls at Big Five is close to the national average; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is February. far from Big Five you'll find Muir Pond which is a scenic lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Big Five has to offer, you can camp at OLD Forge Camping Resort, and beautiful scenery and
great skiing is what you obtain at McCauley Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Robinson's Iga, and the cheerful folks of Ogdensburg-Massena like to hang out nearby. A great location for whitewater paddling
near Big Five is Oswegatchie River - East Branch; you can go for a hike on the Salmon Lake Trail. The summit of Panther Mountain can be made out from Big Five, and delightful hiking is available along the Post Henderson Trail.
If only every spot had this much outdoors fun things, what a great globe it would be. Take a little visit to Buck Brook while you're here at Big Five; hiking is a popular thing to do around Big Five; The Loop is a tremendous local trail.
