It's always fun to stop by Big Bad Luck Pond. Going for a hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and Gore Mountain is a very popular ski area close at hand. This lake is so wonderful. down the rapids of Cedar River in a kayak. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Hudson River, and swamps are exciting sites and McGinn Meadows next to Big Bad
Luck Pond is no exception. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Adirondack Mountains. If you need a place to stay Best Western Mountain Lake Inn is a pleasant choice, and you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along
the Oregon Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Cedar Pond Campground; do stop at Cranberry Pond, it's a lovely lake.

Northville Lake Placid Trail
 | 14 miles away Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-... |
