Bennett Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Rainbows End is a tremendous local campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Doig Creek. If only every spot had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great globe it would be. A quick spree to Bear Creek next to Bennett Lake is a good idea, as expected you could also take a look at Middle Lake while you're here; it's not far at       all. You just have to adore the Adirondack Mountains. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Bennett Lake; Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail is a wonderful local trail; probably you're looking for nearby lakes?
