Belden Lake is a beautiful lake in the Adirondack Mountains. So much entertaining stuff in the Adirondack Mountains, just remarkable. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Pisgah if you're here; a nice close by hotel is Woodlake Inn. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Adirondack Mountains. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not check out Zack Pond in close proximity to Belden Lake, and hey, Big Sucker Brook is a
   delightful local stream.
For the period of the months of summer highs here at Belden Lake get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Belden Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Belden Lake gets a normal amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful.

Paddling on Indian River is so much fun, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Mountain Lake Inn is a wonderful choice.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Belden Lake you can take a hike along the McKenzie Pond Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Belden Lake has to offer, you can camp at Whispering woods. You get a nice view of Baldwin Mountain from Belden Lake; there are other places here than Belden Lake, for example Lodo Pond. That right there is plenty already, but it keeps on going; Belden Lake has it all. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Northville Lake Placid Trail; you can stay the night at Cedar Pond Campground.
Hiking along the Indian Pass Trail is tremendous fun; get drenched paddling on Cold River. Skiing at Gore Mountain is one of those things you just have to do.

Northville Lake Placid Trail
15 miles away
Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-...

With the greatest vertical drop in the east at 3,166 feet, very few resorts do this better than Whiteface. With long runs over three separate, yet connected areas, you'll spend maximum time on the snow and minimum time on the lifts.
There's also Little Whiteface with almost 2,500 vertical feet. And don't forget Kids Kampus which has separate lifts, lodge, ticketing, rentals, snowsports school and child care. This is an outstanding experience for young beginners in a low-key, safe environment.
A new area opens during 2008/2009 season. Lookout Mountain looms over the horizon covered with pristine snow. For centuries this is how it has been. Until now. This season, Lookout Mountain will be yours for the first time. This means miles of new trail. Literally undiscovered country for you to fall in love with. Whiteface has another face, so Lookout.
