There is a nice hiking trail near Beaver Pond called the Elbow Trail; in case you don’t       have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bash Bish Brook. While you're here at Beaver Pond you can take a hike along the Northrop Trail, and the cheerful folks of Hudson like to hang out nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Woodland Hills Campground is a great local campground, and Great Barrington Days Inn is a fine location to get some rest.
