There's so much to do here at Beaver Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Gardner Hill Campground is a splendid site for that, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Sugar Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Beaver Pond is a good site of normal rain; June is when you get the most rain here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Cayuta Creek       has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Elmira here. All the outdoors enjoyable things close to Beaver Pond will keep you coming back time and again. If you came to camp Pine Wood Campground is a great place to do that, and if you're here you can play some golf at Mark Twain Community Golf Course. Don't forget to take a pleasant little visit to Jackson Creek; there's good hiking along the Gorge Trail. This lake is                  so wonderful. A good close by hotel is Red Carpet Inn Horseheads, and you can go for a hike on the South Slope Trail. At Beaver Pond through the long summer days highs are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are usually in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Beaver Pond are in the 10's.
