     New York has many beautiful lakes and Bear Gulch Pond is one of them. Be careful coming to Bear Gulch Pond, you might not ever wanna return home again. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Ski Plattekill since you're here, and you can stay the night at Mohawk Camp Ground. A beautiful lake like Summit Lake in close proximity to Bear Gulch Pond is a great spot to stop at, and a perfect place for whitewater paddling is West Creek. This lake  
   is so wonderful. While you're here at Bear Gulch Pond you will meet lots of people from close by Amsterdam, and Best Western Inn Of Cobleskill is a nice place to get some rest.
In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on West Kill River. There's so much to do here at Bear Gulch Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Nickerson Park Campground is a good spot for that. An average amount of rainfall falls

I have been to this reservoir many times and highly recommend it to anyone. It's got good fishing and its a very big area to just go out and relax while trying to catch some dinner.  I cant say I've caught many big ones but many  many sunfish and smallmouth. I know there are trout in the upper pond and walleye in the pond furthest to the left. Also large and smallmouth bass are in all three. Great place to go....
