Get wet paddling on Moodna Creek, and some of the water nearby flows, like Dry Brook. Dry warm beds await you at Beacon Inn; the Stillwell Lake Trail offers hiking at its best. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Beacon Reservoir. Beacon Reservoir is right by the Woodtown Trail; whitewater paddling is delightful on Wappinger Creek. For the period of the long       summer days at Beacon Reservoir temperatures are frequently in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Beacon Reservoir. The peak of Bald Hill can be made out from Beacon Reservoir, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Beacon Reservoir; Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a great local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from                  Beacon Reservoir, you'll hit upon Barrett Pond which is a wonderful lake, and a great spot to camp here at Beacon Reservoir is Sebago Cabins Harriman. Camping at Beaver Pond is always a brilliant experience, and a day on the slopes of Sterling Forest is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Quality Inn Fishkill is a delightful choice, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Fishkill Golf Course & Driving Range.
