    The beauty of Bates Pond is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Indian River is so much fun; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Gore Mountain. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains.
Any time is a magnificent time at Bates Pond if you adore the outdoors. Nearby lakes? Sure, Goodnow Flowage is near Bates Pond, and a cool spot to explore is Fishing Rock. If you want a pleasant
 
   time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Adirondack Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Lone Birch Motel, and West Branch Goodnow River is one of the streams close by that might be worth going to. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Whispering woods, and there is a brilliant hiking trail nearby called the Indian Pass Trail.
High temperatures at Bates Pond through the warm days of summer are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's.
 
               Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Bates Pond. If you need a place to stay Adirondack Trail Motel is a wonderful choice, and the Northville Lake Placid Trail is a magnificent hiking trail nearby. An average amount of rainfall falls at Bates Pond; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Yep, outdoors entertaining things truly is abundant here in the Adirondack Mountains. Float down the rapids of Cedar River in a kayak, and here at Bates Pond you can spot Goodnow Mountain.
