Barrett Pond frequently gets a large amount of rain; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. Get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Popolopen Creek; going for a hike on the Woodtown Trail is always a pleasant adventure. On a great day at Barrett Pond you can take a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail; Barrett Pond is not the only spot close by, Jacox Pond is                  a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Hilton Garden Inn Poughkeepsie/Fishkill is a perfect choice, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Stillwell Lake Trail. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Barrett Pond. The skiing at Thunder Ridge is good. There's so much to do here at Barrett Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Sebago Cabins Harriman is a great place for that. At Barrett Pond during the summertime months highs are in the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
