On a lovely day you obtain a sight of Hitchcock Hill from Barrett Pond; if you come at the right time of year, Wappinger Creek offers some good whitewater. Lockwood Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore, and Camp Kiwi is a nice campground nearby. If you need a place       to stay Le Chambord is a perfect choice; swing by Bailey Brook it's a good place to explore. This lake is so wonderful. Inn at Arbor Ridge and Cnf Ctr is a great site to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Tenmile. Barrett Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; most of the rain falls during May while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All through the warm days of summer                  highs here at Barrett Pond get into the 80's; the nighttime is somewhat chillier of course, typically in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Barrett Pond temperatures fall to the 10's. Be careful coming to Barrett Pond, you might not ever want to go home again. If you came for an overnight stay Clarence Fahnestock State Park is a pleasant site to camp; Mahopac Golf Club is a pleasant golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
