On a perfect day at Barnes Pond you can take a hike along the Schwartz Trail, and after a long day outdoors Mirror Lake Inn is a good place to spend a night or two. At Barnes Pond during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Barnes Pond. That       right there is loads of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. While you're here at Barnes Pond you can take a hike along the Silver Lake Mountain Trail, and good skiing awaits you at Whiteface Mountain. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Be careful coming to Barnes Pond, you might not ever wanna return home again. Not far from Barnes Pond, you'll locate Mud Pond which is a pretty                  lake; Barnes Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, North Pole Campground is a delightful local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Saranac River; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Mount Pisgah. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Dow Pond; a good panorama of picturesque Haystack Knob is available. Barnes Pond gets a large amount of water; during August this area sees the most rain while February is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Barnes Pond is a site with many visitors from Plattsburgh. There's so much to do here at Barnes Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Douglas Corp Of Silver Lake is a splendid location for that.
