Blackcap Mountain can be made out from Barnes Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Moodna Creek offers some brilliant whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. A charming lake like Bull Pond in the neighborhood of Barnes Lake is a good site to stop by, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Mt. Peter.

on a tremendous day you can take a hike along the Stillwell Lake Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Barnes Lake. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. All through the
winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Barnes Lake tend to be in the 10's. And if you're still looking for more outdoors entertaining things just keep reading. Sterling Forest is a very
popular ski area nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Harriman Motor Inn.
This lake is so wonderful. Beaver Pond is a glorious campground here; the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail is a delightful hiking trail close by.
