Throughout the summer months highs here at Barnes Lake reach the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows at Barnes Lake during the wintertime regularly dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. At Barnes Lake you always meet someone from Utica-Rome; camping is available at Moose River Camp Grounds. Looking       for something next to Barnes Lake? Buck Lake is close at hand, and the Stone Dam Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Barnes Lake is right by the Twin Lakes Trail, and paddling on Moose River is so much fun. After a long day outdoors Wingate By Wyndham Rome is a good place to spend a night or two. Very pretty scenery and pleasant skiing is what you get at Snow Ridge; perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Poplar Pond is                  just a very short distance away. Barnes Lake is a good site of normal precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. Any time is a delightful time at Barnes Lake if you like the outdoors. Gotta ski!
