     Barnes Lake is a nice lake to visit. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Barnes Lake has to offer, you can camp at Moose River Camp Grounds; going for a hike on the Stone Dam Trail is always a brilliant adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Twin Lakes Trail, and get wet paddling on Black River. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Moose River is so much fun; a good close by hotel is Paul Revere Lodge.
There's so much to
 
   do here at Barnes Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Stysh's Brown Barn Campgrounds is a good spot for that, and if you need a place to stay Best Western Sunset Inn is a wonderful choice. If you love the outdoors, you'll like Barnes Lake. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Woods Valley since you're here, and there are plenty of people from Utica-Rome here at Barnes Lake. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Snow Ridge.
 
               Barnes Lake gets a common amount of annual rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. There's some flowing water nearby, Cropsey Creek is a stream you can check out while you're here; since you're here you can play some golf at Woodgate Pines Golf Club. Lakes are such serene places, why not have a look at Buck Lake in the neighborhood of Barnes Lake, and there are good locations to look at along the Forty Mountain Trail.
During the summertime months highs here at Barnes Lake reach the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Barnes Lake.
