Sure, Welmet Lake is close to Balsam Pond; get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Lackawaxen River. There are splendid places to explore along the Lost Cabin Trail, and a quick spree to Balsam Brook is unquestionably a fine idea. This lake is so wonderful. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Cow Swale Swamp is right close by, and Kittatiny Campgrounds is a perfect local campground. Golf can be played at Island Glen Country Club, and after a long       day outdoors Best Western Monticello is a great place to spend a night or two. Going for a hike on the Schiff Trail is always a good adventure. Villa Roma Resort Lodges is a splendid location to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Delaware River. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Bald Hill Trail, and why not camp at Woodstock On The Lake Campgrounds while you're here at Balsam Pond.                  Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff to do are really bountiful here at Balsam Pond. Very wonderful scenery and fine skiing is what you get at Holiday Mountain, and you're most likely into lakes, Trout Pond is one of those close by. High temperatures at Balsam Pond during the months of summer are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 50's. During the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Balsam Pond.
