Summertime highs at Balsam Lake typically tend to be in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's while Balsam Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. Balsam Lake gets a lot of water; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Balsam       Lake is a beautiful lake in the Catskill Mountains. On a magnificent day at Balsam Lake you can take a hike along the Seager West Branch Trail. Having a wonderful time in the Catskill Mountains is easy. While you're here at Balsam Lake, you could also have a look at gorgeous Beecher Lake, and Balsam Lake is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Willowemoc Campgrounds is a brilliant place to camp nearby. That right there is heaps already, but it                  keeps on going; Balsam Lake has it all. Black Brook is a fine site to stop at; Dog Hollow is another wonderful location to stop at close by. Balsam Lake Mountain is clearly visible from Balsam Lake; skiing at Ski Plattekill is one of those things you just must do. This lake is so wonderful. The Vernooy Falls Trail is a fine hiking trail near Balsam Lake, and you can stay the night at Covered Bridge Campsite. Very scenic scenery and splendid skiing is what you get at Belleayre, and get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Mill Brook. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Catskill Mountains has to offer. You can run the rapids of Dry Brook next to Balsam Lake, and a great nearby hotel is Days Inn Of Liberty. This lake is so wonderful.
