Avalanche Lake is located in the Adirondack Mountains. Avalanche Pass is a glorious location to discover, and at Avalanche Lake you can see Algonquin Peak. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great earth it would be. A day on the slopes of Mount Pisgah is just what you need. Man, is there loads of entertaining things to do right next door to Avalanche Lake. Going for a       hike along the Van Hoevenberg Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; why not a little side visit to Cold Brook. After a long day outdoors Courtyard Lake Placid is a delightful location to spend a night or two; why not camp at Adirondak Loj while you're here at Avalanche Lake. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too glorious to be true. On a brilliant day at Avalanche Lake you can take a hike along the Hopkins                  Trail; Ausable River - West Branch has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by. All year is a great time in the Adirondack Mountains if you adore the outdoors. You are close to Beaver Point if you're here at Avalanche Lake, and Adirondack Loj is a great location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Whispering Pines Campground; Marcy Dam is a charming site. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not pop by Lake Colden right next door to Avalanche Lake, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Indian Pass Trail. Avalanche Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rain; most of the rain falls during August, and February is when it's the driest. The snow is magnificent at Whiteface Mountain; paddling on John's Brook is so much fun. Summer at Avalanche Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's.
