Knights Inn Little Falls is a great site to get some rest; West Canada Creek is a nice whitewater spot close by. Pooler Vly is a swamp right next door to Atwood Lake, and getting to Fourmile Brook from Atwood Lake is uncomplicated. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Americas Best Inns-Herkimer is a tremendous location to spend a night or two, and hey, Gotta ski right? McCauley       Mountain is a nice place to do that. Through the summer at Atwood Lake highs are typically in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are mostly in the 20's with temperatures at Atwood Lake dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. Atwood Lake generally gets a great deal of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with                  the least amount of precipitation. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors exciting things the Adirondack Mountains has to offer.
