In New York there are many beautiful lakes, Arbutus Lake is one of them. Lemon Creek is a good location to have a look at. Dry warm beds await you at Staten Island Hotel, and while you're here at Arbutus Lake, checking out Seguine Point Bend is a must. This lake is so wonderful. Arbutus Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Bryn Mawr Camp is a great local campground, and a trip to Princes Bay is always a fine idea.

Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Golf can be played at South Shore Golf Course; do visit Treasure Lake, it's a charming lake. There's so much
to do here at Arbutus Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Kaufman Campgrounds is a great place for that; a delightful lake like Wolfes Pond is a wonderful site to take a look at. Through the long summer days at Arbutus Lake
temperatures are regularly in the 80's; the night is quite cooler of course, typically in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Arbutus Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
During your journey to Arbutus Lake you'll meet some folks from New York-Newark-Edison for sure, and on a lovely day you can take a look at Huguenot Beach.

 | We have a natural beach, good for surf fishing, boating, walking your dog. Swimming is best done on the ocean, not the bay, sorry to say. And there is no camping. Nearest spot is at Cheesequake State Park off Exit 120 of the Garden State Parkway. CB is not a ''pretty wet place''; it gets average summer rainfall for a temperate zone locale. Bird watching is good here. Nice view of Keyport harbor. The view of Whale Creek is not a remarkable vista for a postcard.... |

 | I live on this lake, I'm 14 and every summer I have the most wonderful time on floating docks with my friends and waking up and kayaking with my little sister....I remember swiming here when I was young. A big different from the creek under the parkway bridge....I remember back in the 50's I would go past the lake and see kid's swing from a tree on a rope, and then let go and dive in the water. Yes - Truly the best. I was there for 5 or 6 summers from approx 1964 to 1969. I remember watching Neil Armstrong walk on the moon among many highlights......Back in the 60's there was a sleep away camp called Camp Farrington. It was a fantastic place and one I remember as the most important in my life! Does anyone know or remember? I would love to get in touch with them.... |
