Get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of Sandburg Creek, and going for a hike on the Comfort Trail is always a great adventure. Dry warm beds await you at Wurtsboro - Days Inn, and Rainbow Valley Campground is a good campground nearby.       Lake Altamont is a wet place that gets a great deal of precipitation; all through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest. Near Lake Altamont you locate the Peenpack Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and playing golf is lots of fun at Wallkill Golf Club. If you came for an overnight stay Korn's Shawangunk is a pleasant place to camp; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mt. Peter if                  you're here.
