Looking for something in the neighborhood of Allen Pond? Clear Lake is in close proximity, and Best Western University Inn is a magnificent spot to get some rest. The warmest time of the year at Allen Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's; nighttime lows at Allen Pond throughout       the winter usually dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Grass River - Lower South Branch, and if you came to camp Robinson's Iga is a tremendous site to do that. Good hiking is available along the Post Henderson Trail. There's so much to do here at Allen Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Higley Flow State Park is a pleasant spot for that. This spot rules, just explore all the fun stuff to do close to Allen                  Pond. Swamps don’t sound that great but Pine Marsh near Allen Pond is rather great; the Sixmile Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Grass River - Middle Branch, and there's splendid hiking along the The Loop. The yearly precipitation here at Allen Pond is about average; most of the rain falls throughout August; February meanwhile is the driest month. Some nearby water includes Allen Brook; a splendid nearby hotel is Comfort Suites Canton.
