Y Pond is always a pleasure to visit. Through the warm days of summer at Y Pond highs are ordinarily in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's while Y Pond overnight low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's. There are tremendous spots to look at along the Smith Creek Trail; after a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Elko is a delightful place to spend a night or two. There's no way somebody can get bored

| | here in the Ruby Mountains. Go for a hike on the Ruby Crest Trail, and a short visit to Flyn and Hager Spring is always worthwhile.
Y Pond is a beautiful lake in the Ruby Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Banana Pond. At Y Pond you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow, and the driest month is July.
