If you came for an overnight stay Wheeler Peak Campground is a perfect location to camp, and you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Bristlecone Pine Glacier Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lehman Creek Campground and Trailhead is a fine campground here; if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Highland Ridge Trail. There's no way someone can get bored here in       the Snake Range. The vista of stunning Baker Peak near Stella Lake is great, and going for a hike along the Baker Shoshone Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. A magnificent close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ELY. Stella Lake is not the only location nearby, Blue Lake is a nearby lake; don't miss out on a trip to Great Basin National Park while you're                  here. Around Stella Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while January is regularly the driest month. This lake is located in the wonderful Snake Range. All through the summertime highs here at Stella Lake get into the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's.
