Virgin Valley Campground is a splendid campground nearby, and of course South Hell Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth checking out. Not much rain falls here at Sheep Pen Reservoir; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while July is usually the driest month. If you get bored of Sheep Pen Reservoir, you could also stop by nearby Center Reservoir, and Chokecherry Spring is an inspiring place to have a look at while you're here.

| | For the duration of the warm days of summer highs here at Sheep Pen Reservoir reach the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are commonly in the 30's while Sheep Pen Reservoir nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay East Rock Spring Campground is a wonderful place to camp; Perlite Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop at. | |
