Around Mud Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout January while July is commonly the driest month. Mud Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Any time is a nice time at Mud Lake if you love the outdoors. If you came to camp Washoe Tribe Campground is a pleasant spot to do that; Long Valley is a good location to take a look at. There is a splendid hiking       trail in the vicinity of Mud Lake called the Charity Valley Trail, and a delightful location for whitewater paddling is Carson River - East Fork. Man, is there a heap of cool stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. On a good day at Mud Lake you can take a hike along the Burnside Lake Trail; you can hit the slopes at Kirkwood in the neighborhood. All through the warm months highs here at Mud Lake get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the                  40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Mud Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Heavenly has great slopes and a friendly staff, and playing golf is lots of fun at Carson Valley Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Minden Inn is a splendid location to get some rest. So many cool things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too good to be true. Camping at Indian Creek Campground is always a nice experience; if you need a place to stay Carson Valley Inn Motor Lodge is a splendid choice. This lake is so wonderful.
