It is very arid here at Mud Lake generally; January is the wettest month with most rain, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. The Burnside Lake Trail is a great hiking trail next to Mud Lake. Going for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 is always a pleasant adventure, and if you need a place to stay Best Western Minden       Inn is a magnificent choice. And if that's not enough there's lots more fun things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Stay the night at Indian Creek Campground, and nearby you hit upon the Charity Valley Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. What would winter be without some skiing at Kirkwood, and enjoy a round of golf at Carson Valley Golf Course. Yep, outdoors amusing things to do are in fact bountiful here at Mud Lake. Mud Lake is a nice place to                  visit for more than one day, Washoe Tribe Campground is a nice place to camp nearby, and hey, Gotta ski right? Heavenly is a great place to do that. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. You can run the rapids of Carson River - East Fork right next door to Mud Lake, and a delightful spot is Long Valley. All through the months of summer at Mud Lake highs are usually in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Mud Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
