This lake is one of the great places here in the Snake Range. The Baker Shoshone Trail offers hiking at its best, and Shoshone Campground is a magnificent local campground. You just must have a thing about the Snake Range. Take a hike on the Highland Ridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Great Basin National Park is worthwhile, and Johnson Lake is a great location to visit for more than one day, Wheeler       Peak Campground is a great location to camp nearby. The warmest time of the year at Johnson Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Johnson Lake are in the 10's. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! Johnson Lake is so good! North Fork Baker Creek is a great local stream, and if you need a place to stay PROSPECTOR                  HOTEL AND CASINO is a splendid choice. A beautiful lake like Baker Lake in the neighborhood of Johnson Lake is a nice place to visit, and Baker Peak is wonderful and can be made out from here. Johnson Lake is a location that is pretty dry commonly; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and January is when it's the driest.
