This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Dollar Lakes; close by you come across the Smith Creek Trail which is a nice hiking trail. There is a glorious hiking trail close to Island Lake called the Ruby Crest Trail, and Island Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Lee Jiggs Campground is a brilliant local campground. At Island Lake you don’t       see much precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. If only every spot had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great earth it would be. The Ruby Mountains scenery is always beautiful. For the duration of the days of summer at Island Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 90's with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and night lows through                  the wintertime for Island Lake tend to be in the 10's.
