This lake is located in the wonderful Ruby Mountains. Island Lake is a magnificent location to camp, Lee Jiggs Campground is a magnificent location, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Smith Creek Trail. Island Lake gets very little rain; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. For the duration of the days of summer, highs usually are in       the 90's at Island Lake with overnight lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are mostly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Island Lake are in the 10's. Island Lake is not far at all from Elko. This lake is so wonderful. This is a splendid neighborhood for people who like lakes. Dollar Lakes is a lake around here, and the summit of Snow Lake Peak can be distinguished from Island Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff                  in the Ruby Mountains.
