This lake is one of the great places here in the Ruby Mountains. If you need a place to stay Econo Lodge & Suites is a magnificent choice. Lakes? Sure, Liberty Lake is nearby. So much entertaining stuff to do at Castle Lake, so little time. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Favre Lake. High temperatures at Castle Lake through the summertime are in the 90's.       For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Castle Lake. A forest close to Castle Lake is Ruby Mountain Ranger District; Castle Lake is right by the Smith Creek Trail. So much amusing stuff to do in the Ruby Mountains, not enough time. There's so much to do here at Castle Lake that you need to camp here for a while,                  Lee Jiggs Campground is a wonderful place for that, and while you're here, you might as well stop at Liberty Pass. This lake is so wonderful. From Castle Lake you obtain a great sight of Lake Peak, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Ruby Crest Trail.
