Deadmans Canyon Reservoir is a glorious lake right next door to Blackwells Pond, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Mt. Rose is relatively near.
If you need a location to stay Nugget by Carefree Inn is a great choice, and Eagle Valley is a pleasant place. Be careful coming to Blackwells Pond, you might not ever want to return back home again. Diamond Peak is a wonderful local
ski area, and Blackwells Pond is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Camp N Town is a brilliant local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such calm places, why not visit Dry Lake next to Blackwells Pond;
one of the best things about this spot is its proximity to South Beach. Blackwells Pond is pretty dehydrated generally; January is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is July.
