Yep, outdoors cool things truly is plentiful here in the Sacramento Mountains. A pleasant nearby hotel is Ruidoso Downs-Days Inn, and nice hiking is available along the Base Trail. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Zamora Lake get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 50's while the cold winter nights       at Zamora Lake are in the 20's. The Sacramento Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Near Zamora Lake you stumble on Perry Canyon which is a nice place to visit. There's so much to do here at Zamora Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rocky Mountain RV Park is a great site for that. Not far from Zamora Lake, you'll locate Twin Lakes which is a wonderful lake, and after a long day outdoors Ramada Ruidoso Downs is a splendid                  site to spend a night or two. Go for a hike on the Whiskey Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Zamora Lake has to offer, you can camp at River Ranch Campground. If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sacramento Mountains. Very wonderful scenery and perfect skiing is what you get at Ski Apache. Around Zamora Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most; April is the month with the least moisture. Any time is a splendid time at Zamora Lake if you love the outdoors. Don't leave Zamora Lake without first going for a hike along the Mitten Bar Trail. Lakes?
