There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If you need a location to stay Johnson's Cabins On the River is a fine choice, and if you have time to spare, Fort Union National Monument is a national park worth checking out. Laguna Yeso is mostly a rather dried up spot; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is January. Stay the night at Cathedral Rock Campground.       This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at St James Hotel, and nearby Aguaje Canyon is a magnificent spot to go. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Cimarron Inn and RV Park is a tremendous campground here; on a good day you can take a hike along the Santa Fe Trail. Summertime highs at Laguna Yeso ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's.
