Capulin Volcano National Monument is reasonably in the vicinity of Widow Lake, and Capulin & Recreational Vehicle Park & Camp is a pleasant campground nearby. Super 8 Raton NM is a wonderful site to get some rest. Widow Lake is pretty dried out generally; most of the rain falls throughout July; December on the other hand is the driest. A delightful lake like Cassan Lake in close proximity to Widow Lake is a great place to stop at,       and if you came for an overnight stay Capulin RV Park and Camp is a tremendous location to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Farr Vega Lake is a wonderful lake in close proximity to Widow Lake, and Kiowa Flats is a pretty spot any time of year. At Widow Lake through the summer months highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's.
