West Trail Lake is a beautiful lake in the Zuni Mountains. El Malpais National Monument is a good site close to West Trail Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The view of San Rafael Mesa from West Trail Lake is picturesque; after a long day outdoors Grants Super 8 Motel is a good spot to spend a night or two. All year is a great time in the Zuni Mountains if you go for the outdoors. If you came for an overnight       stay Lavaland RV Park is a wonderful site to camp, and Grants Travelodge is a great site to get some rest. West Trail Lake is pretty dried out mostly; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest month of the year is April. Camping is available at Cibola Sands RV Park, and lots of people from Grants come here. Summer at West Trail Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's.
