This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Econo Lodge Eagle Nest is a great choice. There are plenty of folks from Taos here at Waterbird Lake. Lakes? Sure, Blue Lake is close by. Good hiking is available along the Lost Lake Trail, and Italianos Campground is a good campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. You can catch a glimpse of Larkspur Peak from Waterbird Lake, and Sagebrush Inn is a glorious place       to get some rest. Waterbird Lake is located in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Man, is there lots of entertaining stuff to do next to Waterbird Lake. Head up to Angel Fire and strap some skis to your feet, and there's fine hiking along the Twining Blue Lake Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Twining Campground is a good local campground, and don't leave Waterbird Lake without first going for a hike along                  the Burnt Ridge Trail. So many exciting things in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, just incredible. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Red River, and Bear Lake is a splendid lake nearby. For the duration of the warm months at Waterbird Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Waterbird Lake during the winter mostly plunge into the 0's.
