Vaca Pond is a beautiful lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Deer Lake is a perfect lake in the vicinity of Vaca Pond, and Angel Fire Resort is a great site to get some rest. Be careful coming to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again. The snow is glorious at Angel Fire, and if you need a site to stay Econo Lodge Eagle Nest is a good choice. At Vaca Pond you don’t see much precipitation;       August is the month that gets the most rain while January is regularly the driest month. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Vaca Pond. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Vaca Pond temperatures dip to the-10's. Just can't get enough of Vaca Pond. Some of the water close by flows, like Clarks Fork Creek. This lake is so wonderful.                  There's so much to do here at Vaca Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cimarron Inn and RV Park is a pleasant place for that, and you might also want to pay a visit to Turkey Creek Canyon while you're here at Vaca Pond.
