Don't leave Underwood Lakes without first going for a hike along the Bernal Trail, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Eagle Nest is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. Best Western River's Edge is a magnificent place to get some rest, and       camping is available at McCrystal Creek Campground. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Ski Rio is just what you need, and a lake close by is Leandro Lake. Underwood Lakes is commonly a pretty dehydrated spot; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest month of the year is January. So much exciting stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, just remarkable. If you came for an overnight stay Monument Lake Resort is a great place to                  camp; if you get bored of Underwood Lakes you could also take a look at nearby Lake Number One. During the long summer days highs here at Underwood Lakes get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's.
