Be careful coming to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. Going for a hike on the Santa Barbara Angostura Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and get your heart beating on the glorious whitewater of Rio Santa Cruz. Truchas Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. That right there is a heap of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Sangre       De Cristo Mountains has it all. If you get bored of Truchas Lakes, you could also stop by close by Jose Vigil Lake, and nice skiing awaits you at Sipapu Ski. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Trampas Trailhead Campground. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Truchas Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Trampas Medio Campground. Taos - Days Inn is a tremendous place to get some rest, and a magnificent sight of picturesque Chimayosos Peak                  is available. Truchas Lakes gets very little rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here; February on the other hand is the driest. Yep, outdoors exciting things to do are really plentiful here at Truchas Lakes. A short journey to Rio Quemado Falls is always worthwhile, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Ski Santa Fe. This lake is so wonderful. There is a wonderful hiking trail close to Truchas Lakes called the Trampas Trail, and Truchas Lakes is not the only place nearby, Trampas Lakes is a nearby lake. High temperatures at Truchas Lakes throughout the warmest time of the year are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are mostly in the 30's, and night lows in the 0's for Truchas Lakes.
