There's a wonderful grade I-III section of whitewater close by on Rio de los Brazos, the 9-mile-from-beginning-to-end Corkins Lodge to confluence with Rio Chama portion. This portion of Rio de los Brazos is a mid difficulty section for whitewater paddling. For your safety you must always check the latest conditions in advance of going whitewater paddling. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. While you're here at
Trout Lakes you will meet lots of folks from close by Espanola, and while you're here, you could also have a look at lovely Rinker Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
