Stony Lake is a nice lake to visit. Summer at Stony Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Stony Lake. There's so much to do here at Stony Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mills Canyon Campground is a wonderful place for that, and going to Fort Union National Monument is just something

| | you need to do if you haven't yet. If the weather is delightful here at Stony Lake, you can go for a hike along the Santa Fe Trail. Not much rainfall falls here at Stony Lake; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is December. | |
