De Cristo Mountains. Lake Johnson is a nearby lake that you could visit, and paddling on Rio Santa Cruz is so much fun. Do stop at Spirit Lake close to Stewart Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and if you need a location to stay Bishop's
Lodge is a fine choice. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Rio Capulin Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Not much precipitation falls here at Stewart Lake; the month of August is
the wettest with most of the rain while February is regularly the driest month. On a brilliant day at Stewart Lake you can take a hike along the Agua Sarca Trail; Ski Santa Fe is a very popular ski area close by. All through the
long summer days at Stewart Lake highs are regularly in the 90's, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Stewart Lake.
